The rosebud is a recurring theme in my work for a few reasons; in this painting it represents where my father came from, the Rosebud Indian Reservation. The missing face of my grandmother, who I only met a few times and didn’t get to hear stories of our family from as she left this planet too soon. This has left a hole in my heart, but the Eagle carries this message to my ancestors and in return I feel I’m sent guidance.
