Before Western Language, we had never painted or pasted anything on the back wall behind our cash counter. When Cheyenne and Ariel came to me with the idea of wheat-pasting the show’s lead design across the entire wall, I was immediately on board.

Watching them work was a treat—you could tell this wasn’t their first rodeo. A quick scroll through #pastingthewest confirms that. It was genuinely impressive seeing them complete the install in what felt like record time. Their execution was flawless, making wheat pasting look deceptively simple (though I know it’s anything but).

The finished piece transformed the space. Most people who’ve visited since opening night say it makes the gallery feel bigger—a statement I’ll gladly take any day.

Come see the wheat paste in person, along with the full exhibition of Western Language, on view through December 20th. To request the catalog of works email us.
